Description

Music Makers, Dreamers of Dreams was commissioned by One Voice Mixed Chorus, Minnesota’s own and North America’s largest LGBT and straight allies chorus under the direction of Jane Ramseyer Miller. The text is a combination of Arthur O’Shaughnessy’s Ode, Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass and an anonymous text spoken at a GALA national conference: “We have started a song and it cannot stop.” Originally set for baritone soloist, piano, cello and SATB choir, the work seeks to empower singers of all ages through this stirring text setting.

This version for tenor/bass voices was commissioned by the Southern California Vocal Association for the 2016 Men’s Honor Choir.
