Commissioning a new work is a wonderful way to celebrate a life, an ensemble or a special event. Aspen Hill Music handles commission requests for all types of ensembles and celebrations. Your group will collaborate with our composer and decide together the length, style and difficulty level of the piece as well as text choices, voicing and instrumentation. A date for the premiere will need to be determined and Christopher will make every effort to be there not only for the performance, but beforehand to work with musicians and speak with audience members.
The commissioning ensemble owns exclusive performance rights for the premiere of the piece and further performances for a given period of time. You may choose a dedication to be printed at the top of the manuscript and it will be included if the score is published and made available to the public. The composer retains all copyrights to the finished piece and may publish the work after a given period of time following the premiere performance. If you are interested in having composer Christopher Aspaas consider your project, please contact us. An informal discussion of ideas will begin and be followed by a contract agreement covering the responsibilities of all parties involved in the project. You may present your own contract or use the one we have provided here.
